Great Grandchildren of Jacob Boney and Arminda

The wee ones pictured below with their mothers are great grandchildren of Jacob Boney and Arminda Pyles. The photo was probably taken in the summer of 1940 at Mareeda and Ben Willey's. The following information is written on the back of the photo but has not been verified.

Belva Marshall born May 13, 1913 is holding daughter Mavis Darlene. She was born August 25 1938. Guila Garvin born May 1, 1911. She is showing off Bulah Elaine born in 1940. The youngsters are grandchildren of John and Ina.

The next group of three are descendants of Mareeda and Ben Willey. Clela Lois Delancey born December 8, 1919 is holding daughter Doris born December 4, 1939. Next is Clyde Edward Willey's wife Geraldine Porter. She is holding son Rodger (no birth date given). Olive Parker, wife of oldest son Lawrence Ervin, is holding daughter Lois Marie born October 1939.

Last in the dark dress is Mary Tilton daughter of Irvin and Emmie Boney. She is showing her daughter Donna May born October 21, 1939.
JACOB BONEY & ARMINDA PYLES AND THEIR FAMILY

This is a picture of my Grandpa and Grandma Boney and their five oldest children. Grandpa, Jacob Andrew Boney, was born on August 9, 1853 in Lawrence, Township, Washington, County, Ohio. He was the son of John Boney and Julia Hipsley. Grandma was born on February 9, 1861 near Harriettsville, Noble County, Ohio. She was the daughter of William Pyles and Mary Elizabeth Scott.

The picture shows Uncle John born May 15, 1887 in Ritchie County, West Virginia beside grandmother who has her hand on grandpa’s shoulder. She is dressed in dark clothing. Aunt Mareeda has on light clothing. She is the oldest child and was born on 12 or 13, November 1880 also in Ritchie County, West Virginia. Uncle James Irvin, the oldest son, is next. He was born on September 21, 1884 also in Ritchie County, West Virginia.

Aunt Mary Elizabeth is the young girl wearing the plaid dress. She was born on May 16, 1890 in Brookfield Township, Noble County, Ohio. Her little brother Stanton Edward, sitting on grandpa’s lap was born on September 27, 1897 in Noble County, Ohio when grandma was 36 years old. They did wear dresses on little boys back then. My dad, Vernon Boney, was born on May 16, 1901 in Noble County, Ohio. He and Stanton both had to obtain delayed birth certificates. I do not have a picture of my dad as a child.

This is the only picture I have of aunt Lizzie as she was called. She died on October 19, 1924. She married and only had one child, a son who only lived one day. She and her child are both buried in Bell’s Cemetery, Sharon Township, Noble County, Ohio. Grandma and Grandpa are buried there and Grandma’s brother, uncle Jeff, Thomas Jefferson Pyles is buried there as well.

Aunt Mareeda and uncle Benjamin Willey had eleven children and three died young. Eight of them lived to maturity and had children. Uncle Irving and aunt Lucinda Emmaline Linton, Emmie, had six children, four daughters and two sons. They all married and added more children. Uncle John and aunt Ina Cecil Mckee also had four daughters and two sons that repeated the process adding to the numbers.

Uncle Stanton moved to Texas and married Mary John Patterson. They had one daughter. She also married and has added to our Boney-Pyles descendants. Last my dad, Vernon, married Ida Ellen Mincks and they had two daughters and one son. That appears to total twenty-eight grandchildren for Jacob and Arminda.

Vernon and Ida had eleven grandchildren. Who has the number of grandchildren for Mareeda, Irvin, John and Stanton?

The Boney Siblings May 29, 2005

The sisters and the brother.

This is a picture of me and my sister Marie. I was born on August 13, 1926 and she was born on September 28, 1928. I believe this picture was taken in the spring of 1929. I was probably two and a half. My children will probably enjoy comparing this picture with their own daughter's pictures.
The other picture is of my sister, Marie and my brother, Bud when they were all grown up. I do not know the date but it is a good example of your little brother becoming your big brother. It happens, they grow up and can now look down on you.
