Grandma Boney's Visit

Arminda Pyles Boney was visiting her youngest son's family when this picture was taken {probably in 1936}. Vernon's three children are in this group setting with Joann, the youngest daughter of Arminda's oldest son, Irvin.
Lila Jean was the oldest of Vernon's children, her sister is Marie Eileen, and their baby brother is Irvin Wayne. He was named for Vernon's oldest brother, but was later called "Bud." Lila Jean was named for her mother's oldest sister, Lila Belle Mincks. Lila and her beau Handford Chandler, Hank, had been the witnesses at Vernon Boney and Ida Ellen Mincks' wedding on 4 November 1925.

I don't think I have ever seen this photo, though I remember sorting throughstacks of them in the old secretary desk when I was little. I can see resemblences of everyone to how they look as grown up. Fun to see you as a little girl Mom!

What a precious piece of family history. (Hopefully you will say which is Marie and which is Joann so the younger children in the family will know.)
